Khrystin Douthit is a fighter. The beautiful young woman pictured above, whose cancer journey ended in August of 2013 with a courageous recovery, is one of the survivors who will be on the minds of participants at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual “Light The Night Walk.” Berkowitz and Hanna LLC is honored to be a part of this event, and has donated $5,000 in Khrystin’s name.
The nighttime walk honors blood cancer survivors as well as those who lost their lives to the leukemia and lymphoma—and it helps “shine a light” on the importance of finding a cure. “Light The Night” walks are taking place across the country in over two hundred communities, and the local event will be held next week on Friday, October 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk.
Berkowitz and Hanna LLC’s charitable fund was created to help non-for-profit groups like the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society achieve their goals. In addition to being dedicated to the funding of blood cancer research, the society also provides patient services, support and education across the country.
If you do join the walk next week, remember people like Khrystin, who have survived blood diseases … and also those who were not so fortunate. It is sure to be an inspirational and memorable evening for all who participate.
