You’ve seen the “ice bucket challenge” videos—and maybe you’ve even made one yourself!—but this one (above) is particularly special because it features ALS patient Marco Guillen who lost his ability to speak because of the disease.
The Connecticut Chapter of the ALS Association based in Milford, CT (which we follow and support) is dedicated to the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and offers help and hope to people who are living with the disease. The organization provides a full range of support for patients afflicted with ALS, as well as for their family members and caregivers.
If you’ve taken the ice bucket challenge, made a donation or if you plan on participating in the 2014 ‘Walk To Defeat ALS’ taking place in New Britain (September 27), New Haven (October 5) and Westport (October 26), kudos to you! Philanthropy and a strong sense of community play a large role in Berkowitz and Hanna LLC LLC’s overall modus operandi, and the firm takes pride in supporting organizations like ALS of Connecticut.
Together, maybe the mission of the ALS Association can come true: to “Create a world without ALS.”
