Appendicitis Malpractice

Russ Berkowitz has filed a lawsuit in Bridgeport Superior Court against Greenwich Hospital and a colorectal surgeon on behalf of the estate of a 48 year old client who died of septic shock, peritonitis, and multi-organ failure following an elective gastrointestinal procedure performed at Greenwich Hospital. According to Berkowitz, “our client sustained a perforated bowel during his surgical procedure that went undiagnosed for almost two days. The toxic fluid that leaked into his gastrointestinal tract over that period of time caused him to sustain an irreversible catastrophic infection that ultimately caused his death.” Prior to his death, our client was an information technologist for the Town of Scarsdale and leaves behind his domestic partner and four children.
