The Berkowitz Law Firm Supports And Applauds The Shelter For The Homeless

Written by Berkowitz

As the weather gets colder it’s time to remember that not everyone is fortunate enough to have a roof over their head and a warm environment in which to spend the winter months. Fortunately, shelters around the area offer some respite for those in need. Berkowitz and Hanna LLC wants to thank the Shelter for the Homeless in Stamford for everything it does and for the hope it brings people who need it most.

Food and shelter are basic necessities, and this non-profit organization provides them to nearly 100 men 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Marcus, a client at the group’s emergency shelter said “When you don’t know where you are gonna sleep, and you don’t know if you are gonna get to eat, there’s no room to think about anything else.”

Berkowitz and Hanna LLC’s charitable fund supports The Shelter for the Homeless, and is extremely proud to do so.  It is the only regional shelter in lower Fairfield County serving the four-town area of Stamford, Darien, Greenwich and New Canaan.  It typically houses 60-82 men, and can accommodate up to 110 men during extreme-weather months. In addition, the organization offers affordable housing, job training and recovery programs. At this time of the year, and always, it’s truly important to recognize the good works of The Shelter for the Homeless.
