Russ Berkowitz has filed a wrongful death medical malpractice in New Haven Superior Court action against an anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetist, and Midstate Medical Center on behalf of the estate of a client who sustained an irreversible anoxic brain injury during an elective gastrointestinal diagnostic procedure following the administration of an excessive dosage of propofol. As a result of the above, our client sustained an acute respiratory depression which was not timely diagnosed or treated and ultimately lead her to go into respiratory arrest and left her without oxygen for an unreasonable period of time. Our client was rendered a vegetable following said arrest and subsequently died.
