Russ Berkowitz and Erik Siegel have settled a wrongful death medical malpractice case against a hospital on behalf of our client who tragically died as a result of the hospital’s failure to timely treat our client’s infected obstructed kidney stone. Our client, a 22 year old college student, was never evaluated by a single attending physician during her hospitalization until almost 24 hours into her hospital admission. As a result, the failure to treat the source of her sepsis eventually caused her organs to shut down and she went into septic shock. Our client ultimately died approximately 30 hours after she arrived at the hospital’s emergency department complaining of right flank pain.
