Russ Berkowitz and Andy Wildstein have been awarded a confidential settlement on behalf of the family of a client who died at a Connecticut hospital following a delay in treating his ruptured appendix.
According to Wildstein, “the standard of care for a patient who presents to the hospital with a ruptured appendix, sepsis, and peritonitis is emergency surgery.”
“Our client, who appeared at the hospital with such a presentation, was inexplicably forced to wait 16 hours before he underwent surgery. Over that course of that time, he deteriorated to the extent that he died shortly after his surgery. His family is heartbroken.
