Jennifer Amdur and Russ Berkowitz have been awarded a confidential medical malpractice wrongful death settlement on behalf of the estate of a baby that was asphyxiated in utero following an improper hospital discharge.
According to Amdur, “ while there is much more to the story, our client, who had previously requested that she be induced at 39 weeks, was past her delivery due date when she pleaded with one of the defendant providers to induce her following experiencing decreased fetal movement. Instead, she was sent home from the hospital unmonitored and lost her baby by the next day due to a strangulated umbilical cord. Our clients are devastated.”
