Russ Berkowitz has filed a lawsuit against a Waterbury surgeon and St. Mary’s Hospital of Waterbury on behalf of a client who developed life-threatening septic shock and peritonitis following an elective hernia surgery. The defendant surgeon accidentally perforated her small bowel and failed to timely diagnose and treat the perforation prior to our client’s hospital discharge. Following multiple surgeries to save her life, our client has been left with significant permanent impairments and disfigurements and will require additional surgical procedures.
