Students

Berkowitz Hanna Charitable Fund has granted $30,000.00 to the Waterside School in Stamford, CT for the purchasing of iPads for all 4th and 5th grade students so that the students can continue their education uninterrupted through remote learning for the rest of the school year, over the summer, and during the 2020-2021 academic year when they hopefully can return to school.

For those of you not familiar with this southend Stamford private elementary school, Waterside School is an incredible co-educational private elementary school that provides high-quality education to low income students from Stamford and other surrounding communities and is currently ranked among the top 20% of private schools in Connecticut for highest percentage of schools of color.

Started in 2001 with 27 students, Waterside School now has an annual enrollment of 150 students operating primarily on charitable contributions. Each graduating student has gone on to attending some of the finest private secondary schools in Fairfield in full scholarship and 93% of the graduating students have earned admission to some of the finest universities in the country.

We are proud to be a long time partner of the Waterside School through our annual technology grants and share in the pride of seeing the students and their families being given a chance for a better life.
