Russ Berkowitz and Jennifer Amdur have settled a wrongful death medical malpractice case against a Connecticut hospital on behalf of the estate of a beautiful baby boy who died 10 days after his birth as a result of the hospital’s negligence. According to Jennifer Amdur “our client’s death was clearly preventable but the hospital’s neonatology team failed to timely diagnose that our client was developing abdominal compartment syndrome following a minor abdominal surgery despite obvious signs and symptoms. Unfortunately, by the time our client’s compartment syndrome was diagnosed, he had sustained hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, his organs had failed, and his bowel was necrotic. This is such a sad outcome.” The terms of the settlement are confidential.
