Emily Chumas

Emily practices in the area of medical malpractice and personal injury, and is actively working on some of the firm’s most complicated medical malpractice cases where she assists in case management, provides research and brief writing support, and is developing an expertise in nursing home malpractice and elder abuse. Emily has assisted our malpractice team in the resolution of a number of significant cases, including a $1.2 million settlement in a wrongful death action, and a recent $1 million settlement against a medical provider.

Prior to joining the firm, Emily was a legal research clerk for the Connecticut Judicial Branch where she researched and drafted memoranda and proposed decisions for Superior Court judges throughout the state. Emily also worked at two prestigious hospitals in New York and Connecticut before rejoining the firm.

Emily is a graduate of New York University where she graduated with honors and was in the top 5% of her class at Quinnipiac University School of Law where she received her J.D. in 2017. While in law school, Emily was the Executive Managing Editor of the Quinnipiac Health Law Journal and she received a number of academic awards, including the James B. Boskey Dispute Resolution Essay Competition (2016 Winner) and Zeldes, Needle & Cooper Award for Excellence in Legal Writing.
