Jennifer Amdur has been awarded a confidential medical malpractice settlement on behalf of a client who sustained severe permanent gastrointestinal injuries following a gastrointestinal surgery she underwent for upper stomach pain. Unfortunately, following said surgical procedure, our client became sicker and sicker. According to Attorney Amdur, “our client’s post-operative complications were due to an undiagnosed anastomotic leak. An anastomotic leak is a grave complication that occurs when a surgical procedure connecting two previously unconnected areas of the intestines fails, and the contents of the intestines begin to leak into the abdominal cavity.
