Berkowitz and Hanna LLC represents individuals, or the families of individuals, who have been hurt in an auto accident. In some situations, these personal injury lawsuits may not go to court and may instead end in a settlement, which means that both parties involved have reached a final agreement.

One such example involves actor/comedian Tracy Morgan who chose to settle with Walmart and drop his lawsuit against the retail giant following his severe injury in an auto accident in June 2014. An article in People magazine reported Morgan had sued Walmart after one of the company’s tractor-trailers had slammed into his limousine on the New Jersey Turnpike. Morgan was said to be seriously injured in the accident, and James McNair, another passenger in the limo, was killed.

People reported that Morgan’s initial lawsuit alleged that the trailer’s driver fell asleep at the wheel and that Walmart “shouldn’t have let him drive after he was awake for over 24 hours.” Walmart originally was said to have denied responsibility for the accident but, according to Morgan’s attorney, the company now admits fault. The terms of the settlement with Morgan and two other passengers in the limo were not made public.

The firm is dedicated to pursuing the highest level of monetary damages for their clients’ medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering.
