Factors that can contribute to a car accident include speeding or being distracted while driving. Negligent or reckless driving can also result in a personal injury and have permanent consequences for the driver and passengers. Berkowitz and Hanna LLC has come across a lawsuit in Chicago relating to these issues.
Recently DNAinfo Chicago reported on a woman suing the driver of a BMW in which she was a passenger. The car flew off an embankment and landed upside down, and the plaintiff suffered a spinal injury rendering her paralyzed from the waist down. The lawsuit against the driver involves negligence, and it has been reported that the driver was speeding. The driver also left the scene of the accident. In addition to the driver, the plaintiff and two other passengers in the car are suing two nightclubs that allegedly over-served alcohol to the driver before the accident.
Auto accidents fall under the area of personal injury law, which holds parties accountable for their actions and enables an injured party to pursue monetary damages. Berkowitz and Hanna LLC has attorneys that specifically handle automobile accidents and can provide aggressive legal representation for clients injured in these cases.
