Berkowitz and Hanna LLC has donated $100,000.00 to The Waterside School in Stamford, Connecticut. The firm also partnered with the school to help defray the cost of capital expenditures, such as the school’s new “Technology Loft” which opened when the new Waterside School building was completed in August of 2011.
The Waterside School is a K-5 independent elementary school whose mission is to provide children, too often underserved, access opportunities for educational and personal excellence and to prepare them, in time, for positions of leadership and responsibility.
The Waterside School opened its doors in September 2001 with 27 students, a handful of teachers, and an ambition to provide a reassuring contrast to the despair that these children and their families face within their communities. Now spanning six grades, with one hundred students and a teaching faculty of 25, the school has grown stronger, larger and better.
Each year, members of the graduating class earn admission and scholarships to the areas finest independent schools, including Brunswick School, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Rye Country Day School, Easton Country Day School, St Lukes School, and a number of New England’s most prestigious boarding schools.
In 2008-09, more than $2.2 million was raised in direct support of the school’s operation. Corporate partners, individual investors, and foundations have invested directly with financial support of both scale and duration.
Berkowitz and Hanna LLC is proud of its recent partnership with Waterside School and is excited to be part of the school’s continued success.
