Berkowitz and Hanna LLC handles personal injury cases on a regular basis, but this one involving 1980s pop star Rick Springfield (and his rear end) had an interesting set of facts and concluded with a verdict in favor of Springfield.
The Jesse’s Girl singer was sued by a woman who said she suffered serious injuries when he allegedly fell into her during a 2004 concert in Syracuse, New York. She claimed that Springfield’s buttocks hit her head. There were no witnesses, photos or videos to support the claim.
A jury in New York Supreme Court reached a verdict after deliberating for about an hour. Berkowitz and Hanna LLC knows that when a personal injury has been suffered, there must be evidence to support the claim that it was caused by the defendant. In Rick Springfield’s case, the “bottom” line is, there was no such evidence.
Note: Berkowitz and Hanna LLC did not represent any of the parties in this case.
