Hospital Held Responsible For Baby’s Death

gavel and paper with the words wrongful death

The parents of a beautiful baby girl have just been awarded a wrongful death medical malpractice settlement against a Connecticut hospital as a result of the hospital’s failure to properly monitor her sodium levels in the neonatal intensive care unit following intestinal surgery. Our client’s acute drop in her sodium levels caused her to sustain a profound hyponatremic encephalopathy which had a catastrophic effect on her other organs and quickly lead to her death. Russ Berkowitz and Jennifer Amdur represented the family in this sad and complicated case. The terms of the settlement are confidential.
