Police are investigating a fatal vehicle accident that occurred on Route 110, April 24, 2011. The accident, reportedly, involved a car and two motorcycles. The driver and passenger riding on one of the motorcycles were killed.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. The motorcycle driver who died at the scene has been identified as Shane Morneau, 32. The passenger, whose name has not been released, also died at the scene.
The passenger of the second motorcycle, Christina Rossi, was treated at the burn unit of the Bridgeport Hospital. The names of the driver of the second motorcycle and the driver of the car have not been released.
According to reports, the car collided head-on with the motorcycle Morneau was driving, which caught fire immediately. Shrapnel apparently struck the second motorcycle, causing it to crash.
Details about the cause of the fatal crash have not yet been released. The accident happened at approximately 11 p.m. near Sikorsky Aircraft.
