Russ Berkowitz has filed a lawsuit against Danbury Hospital and Western Connecticut Medical Group in Bridgeport Superior Court on behalf of the estate of a 41 year old client who went into cardiac and respiratory arrest during the administration of anesthesia prior to a cardiac ablation procedure. Our client was without oxygen for over 30 minutes following his arrest and suffered a catastrophic brain injury. He was subsequently transferred to a NYC hospital where he died the next day.
According to Berkowitz, “The anesthesia team failed to recognize that our client’s vital signs were getting progressively abnormal throughout the administration of his anesthesia and then waited five minutes after his arrest to call a Code team to resuscitate him. To have a young man die in this manner is inexcusable.”
