A 15-year old boy who was driving his father’s Dodge Neon at high speeds died after crashing into another car. The collision occurred on June 8, 2011 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Shaun Anthony, the young driver, died at Waterbury Hospital. A 14-year-old passenger is being treated for serious injuries at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford.
Scott McMahon, 39, the driver of the other car, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
According to News Channel 8, Anthony was driving at a high rate of speed when he veered over the center line and crashed into McMahon’s vehicle.
Anthony’s father was reported saying he did not know his son was taking the car. He said he had given his son his keys to get into the house, not for driving the car.
Police are investigating the car crash. So far, no charges have been filed.
