Athlete at the Special Olympics

People with intellectual disabilities can be athletes too, and the Special Olympics of Connecticut helps make Olympic dreams come true for many state residents. Berkowitz and Hanna LLC supports this winning organization through its charitable fund. It’s amazing to see the athletes train hard and go for the gold!

The Special Olympics provides year-round training and competitions for more than 14,000 athletes and Unified Partners (their teammates who do not have intellectual disabilities) and helps the community in other ways too. For example, the organization provides athlete leadership programs, free health screenings and educational seminars on nutrition and healthy lifestyles.

As their mission statement notes: “Special Olympics are sports and so much more. It is a movement that transforms lives by inspiring inclusion, understanding and respect for people of all abilities, both on the playing field and in communities throughout the state.”

Berkowitz and Hanna LLC wants to encourage people to support organizations like this, whether through financial support or giving time as a partner, coach, volunteer or even just a fan. Special Olympics of Connecticut is certainly an organization to cheer for!
